We’ve Been Nominated!

Coast Aggregates is excited to announce that we’ve been nominated for a Squamish Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award in the Service Excellence – Large Business Category. The Annual Business Excellence Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of business people and business organizations in our community. Each of the nominees and recipients are leaders in our local business community, consistently delivering high quality products and outstanding service. We’re honoured to be recognized with fellow category nominees: Sea to Sky Gondola, Squamish Terminals Ltd., Canadian Outback Rafting, McDonald’s Restaurant, and Norman Rudy’s. Online voting is open to Squamish Chamber members until April 5, 2018.

This year Coast Aggregates is going into its 26th year of business, and even though it operates two very different aspects – serving the commercial aggregates while operating a busy retail landscape depot – it operates successfully as one united team.

In their commercial division, the production team works hard to deliver quality material, supplying multiple construction projects throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor. Though you might not see it, the products that they make become the foundation of projects like the Corridor Trail, the Mistral and Sirocco rental apartments, the Squamish Oceanfront project, and under the new floor at the ice arena. They have consistently been the go to supplier when their customers needed the material to fit rigid specifications and tight timelines, which can not only be seen through their deep relationships with other longstanding businesses, but through their core company values: finding solutions, working together and building communities.

Over the past 5 years Coast Aggregates has transitioned from being a commercial gravel quarry to also offering retail sales through their Landscape Depot. The team saw a need in the community and they have continued to make changes to their operations to help local gardeners and landscapers keep growing! With an on-site horticulturist and landscaper, customers can receive first-hand information before purchasing products for their DIY projects.

This year Coast Aggregates has added a new safety officer to the team to help ensure their staff will be safe at work. They’re creating new safety procedures to ensure not only their 25+ staff are safe, but their visiting customers are as well. Selling aggregates and soil from as large as 100,000 metric tonnes to as little as a pail, each customer that comes through their doors is treated with respect and given the utmost attention from every employee.
